Getting here

Sea View house is located in south west Harris, about 40 minutes drive from the ferry port at Tarbert and about 90 minutes drive from the ferry and airport in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The property is 5 minutes by car from Leverburgh, where you will find a great community grocery store, An Clachan, 24 hour fuel, craft shops, doctor’s surgery, cafes, craft brewery, coffee roastery and deli.  Leverburgh is also the main port for the ferry to the Uists. Tarbert also has a variety of shops. Please see the Harris page for more details.

By Air

The airport is in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, which is part of the same landmass. Flights (small planes) arrive daily from Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow, with connections to international destinations.

By Sea (Ferry)

Caledonian MacBrayne (known as CalMac) provide ferries to and from the islands, with the main routes being from Uig on the Isle of Skye to Tarbert on Harris and from Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway. There is also a service from Berneray on North Uist to Leverburgh on Harris.

Ferries are very busy all year round and often sell out very quickly in peak season, so advance booking is critical to avoid disappointment. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
